So you need to get the papers done for the newborn. They can't sign and their fingers too small for thumb printing. So, what do you do? Foot prints of course.

I was lucky to be allowed by the docs to the operating theatre where Klaudia gave birth.

We had an elected Caesarian, so the whole procedure took less than one hour. The docs warned me that it is going to be shocking. Fortunately, my previous experience delivering puppies prepared me for what I will see.

Surprisingly the operation was very clean. The baby was out in no time. Klaudia and me maintained contact throughout the whole procedure.

It was interesting how carefully the number of instruments, pads and towels were counted. Also, I didn't expect the docs to clean the wound so much with flowing water.

Once the mother and child were separated, the docs took the cord blood. The package together with the mother's blood and a bunch of paperwork was sent to the UK where they are going to store the stem cells in a cryogenic (below –150 °C) freezer for the future.

Apple looked all blue and purple at first, but after 15 minutes she turned pink. There was only a bit of crying. She looked totally cute to me from the first minute.

Few hours after the operation Klaudia started feeling a lot of pain. This is going to be a tough time for her.

According to Wikipedia Phaedra was the mother of Demophon and Acamas by Theseus.

While married to Theseus, Phaedra fell in love with Hippolytus, Theseus' son by his rape victim and Amazonian queen, Hippolyte. According to some sources, Hippolytus had scorned Aphrodite to become a devotee of Artemis and Aphrodite made Phaedra fall in love with him as a punishment. He rejected her. Alternatively, Phaedra's nurse told Hippolytus of her love, and he swore he would not reveal her as a source of information. In revenge, Phaedra wrote Theseus a letter that claimed Hippolytus raped her. She then killed herself. Theseus believed her and cursed Hippolytus with one of the three curses he had received from Poseidon. As a result, Hippolytus' horses were frightened by a sea monster and dragged their rider to his death. Alternatively, after Phaedra told Theseus that Hippolytus had raped her, Theseus killed his son and Phaedra committed suicide out of guilt for she had not intended for Hippolytus to die. Artemis later told Theseus the truth. In a third version, Phaedra simply told Theseus this and did not kill herself; Dionysus sent a wild bull which terrified Hippolytus' horses.

After many sessions of ultrasound we still couldn't find out the sex of the baby. Finally, now we know for sure. It's a girl.
